Shop small business!  We care what we sell and this should show you, not tell you that I will not sell something I'm not proud of!  Shop small businesses so we will have somewhere to shop other than Wal-Mart.  Wal-Mart and the other box stores don't sell quality toys because the manufacturers that sell quality will not negotiate bulk pricing discounts.

Safety:  Get your carseats checked for SAFETY - it's so simple and so worth it!  We do it, CHP and Fire stations do it, JUST DO IT!!  In this weather, carseats will become looser and tighter with the temperature fluctuations, check that the carseat doesn't move more than an inch in any direction each time you strap your child in.

Remember: When purchasing juvenile products- Whether it's new in a sealed box or not, proper assembly is crucial, and most importantly check all the straps (pull on them hard) make sure every snap, rivet and any machine stitching is strong.  We've had defective products ourselves, so that's why we inspect and assemble each product prior to the sale.

Common Sense:  Prevent infants from falling off a bed - or other raised surface.  Just get a changing table or curved changing pad and use the strap every time.  We've all done it and it's not worth it. For those of you who just don't like changers, the floor works well too. 

Ok let's face it, us parents made it out of childhood alive, but use the current safety features on ALL products.  Make sure the straps are on. ! 

The Proper Fit:  New affordable leather shoes IN STOCK.  Make sure the little one's have a good, flexible sole, with no inside seams and a fingers width of room in front of the toe.  Remember babies feet are like elephants they squish when they walk. Make sure there is enough width in the toe and heal areas.

The Tired Mommy: Watch out for being tired with multiple children! Almost all the babies who were dropped or fell from a high surface recently, were members of multi-child families.  Remember parents it's harder with more than one child.

When putting on a front pack (baby Bjorn or other) get down on your knees, if you do lose your balance or the baby gets away from you (we've all been there), the floor is much closer to you and there will be less injury. 

Keep hydrated, breastfeeding takes it out of you. 

Protect your babies from older children (they love the new baby but they are a little rough sometimes.)

The Tired Daddy:  Dads: On a personal note, watch out for your wife's emotions, especially soon after giving birth.  Give her a minute for a hot bath by watching the baby.  If your wife seems unusually upset, sad, depressed or angry, don't bury your head in the sand-GET HELP!  Call me I'm a Post-partum depression expert and can give your referalls to specialists in your area.

Nursing Moms:  It's OK to pump breast milk; let your husband bottle feed.  Sometimes dads feel left our when they don't get that feeding bond thing going. Also, you can sleep or take a hot bath or go bond with a girl friend.
